Q: What is Julie?
A:
A one-tablet EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE (a.k.a. “the morning-after pill”).

Julie is a progestin‑only emergency contraception product that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts when taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex.

Julie is a backup method of preventing pregnancy and should not be used as regular birth control. Use as directed.
Doesn’t terminate or harm an existing pregnancy.
Doesn’t affect your ability to get pregnant in the future.

Got questions? Go to the Julie™ website and get lost - it’s actually fun to read all their FAQ’s, myth-busting facts, and solutions for increased personal autonomy within reproductive health.

Our Services:

We currently offer:

  • HIV/AIDS and Hep C Testing … every day Tuesday through Saturday by appointment! If you need a blood draw or confirmatory testing, please see our calendar for available appointments with our on-site Registered Nurse (currently Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm).

  • Syringe Access Services: in addition to injection alternatives, including naloxone / Narcan kits, fentanyl test strips, condoms, and more.

  • Wound Care (Tuesday evenings 6pm to 8pm): Our RN is available to assess and offer treatment advice or consult with a local doctor for slow healing or worrisome wounds.

  • Emergency Contraception (NOT “the pill’) - Commonly referred to as the "morning-after pill" and is designed to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Julie™️ is a morning-after emergency contraception pill that helps prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex. It is NOT an abortion pill.. • Advocacy and Referrals: Our main goal is to help individuals discover the most suitable treatment options for their needs. These options include Crisis Stabilization, Inpatient Treatment, Sober Living, Opioid Treatment Programs (such as Methadone and Suboxone), Primary Healthcare, and Mental Health Providers. If we come across a suitable resource, we’ll connect you with them directly.

  • Peer Support: Peer Support from both Certified Peer Specialists and our Harm Reduction Specialists, all of whom have have lived/living experience with substance use and other identities marginalized or criminalized by stigma, poor policy, or moral judgment.

  • Groups: We offer a mosaic of community peer support meetings across a spectrum of topics. Some are broad and encompassing while some are focused and specific on unique intersections of identity and behavior. We’re adding many more as we go in 2024…

No ID necessary. All syringe services are 100% confidential and free. We log a small amount of info for data collection such as initials and birth year to create Unique ID’s — choose any initials you’d like, just try to remember the same ones every time ;) Those tiny bits of data plus some other random numbers to represent demographics get scrambled and create a de-identified “Unique ID” that preserves your privacy so our funders get insights into our work and how we’re we’re doing on fulfilling our mission programs with their money.

We look forward to working with you.
